Test persons: males, whose loss of hair and/or baldness has started on the back calotte
STUDY
A. SELECTION Of TEST PERSONS
We selected 4 men, who had baldness in varying stages.
1. test person: age 21 years, initial phase of baldness
2. test person: age 23 years, back calotte already almost bald, diameter 5 cm
3. test person: age 45 years, back calotte already clearly blad, but sortie hair is thinly growing
4. test person: age 40 years, crown of the head totally bald up to the forehead, some hair on the fore calotte.
After starting the test an additional test person was taken along: a 50-year-old man, whose baldness was previously taken care with other methods. Since 7 years he had not taken any treatments and the baldness had showed up again two years ago.
B. START OF THE TEST
1. A hair analysis with a microscope was made to each test person in order to make sure of the influence of the DHT ( dihydrotestosterone) on the loss of hair.
2. The tallow acarids (Dernodex folliculorum) found during the analysis were destroyed. Other causes for the hair loss were not eliminated by any treatments.
3. Hair bulbs of the 4 test persons were video-taped.
4. Initial photos were taken.
5. Each test person received Folligro™ System 1(capsules) and Folligro™ System 2(Sub-lingual spray) for 6 months.
C. ENDING THE TEST AND RESULTS
1. New hair bulbs of the test persons were examined with microscope and the following was found out:
• Hair bulbs which were formed during the last 6 months, were healthy.
• The nourishment of the hair bad started to improve.
• Hair bulbs which had come out before the test and bad been damaged did not fully recover, but they did produce high-quality terminal hair and no vellus hair any more.
2. The density of hair growth was examined by comparing the initial photos with the present situation. It was found out that all test persons showed additional growth of the hair:
1. test person 1: slight growth, but also the problem was on an early stage.
2. test person 2: noticeable growth evenly on the whole bald area. The growth was more abundant than expected.
3. test person 3: the bald area had almost disappeared.
4. test person 4: the bald area was still bald, but the hairline had slightly raised higher. the test person concidered the result noticeable.
5. test person 5: the bald area had almost disappeared and the test person was fully satisfied with the result.
D. FURTHER TREATMENT OF THE TEST PERSONS
Each test person has the intention to continue the use of Folligro.
F. EVALUATION AND CONCLUSIONS
• Since the hair is growing 2-6 years, it is clear that the 6 months test period showed the effectiveness of the Folligro™ product.
• The real test period should have the same length as the hair’s period of growth, i.e. at least 2 years. During this time we could see whether it is possible to get back hair to a filly bald area, or how much hair we could expect to get back.
• The study demonstrated that the hair bulbs cannot be healed - a fact which the hair analysts have already proved in their earlier studies - but the new growth which has originated during the treatment is fully healthy, even the roots. This shows the need for the long duration of the treatment. Damaged hair bulbs cannot be healed or restored to their former condition, but after its growing cycle the nodule produces a new healthy bulb.
• The test persons did not experience any side eflëcts of the Folligro™ products.
